Minty

I was going through some pictures and was reminded of a funny thing. A few weeks ago, on a Saturday morning, Travis and I had Brenner in bed with us and we were all awake and just talking and snuggling and Brenner was being so stinking cute. So he got off the bed and said "book" and ran off. Usually when this happens, he goes into his room, gets a book, comes back, and I read to him before we have breakfast. So Travis and I started talking about something and pretty soon I realized that Brenner hadn't come back with a book. So I got out of bed and went to investigate. I walked into the living room and there he was with a smile on his face, sitting nest to a little pile of wrappers. Upon further investigation I discovered that he had, in fact, gotten a pack of gum from Trav's bag and EATEN 12 pieces of gum. Of course I was a little alarmed but I had enough time to snap a quick picture before I called nurse Nancy. Brenner was fine of course, and his breath was nice and minty fresh for the whole day.
I'm not really sure why there is a hammer nearby. But hey, it's Brenner, so you never know.

Time is flying... some places too fast and some too slow.

Yes it's been a while, so although I don't have the Easter pictures (my camera ran out of juice the moment I turned it on) I thought I'd do a quick update of the haps in the Fonnesbeck house.
The past few weeks have been kind of crazy for us. Spring break was a blur, and of course, never long enough. My Dad had some slightly "emergency" back surgery, so we were in Salt Lake babysitting him and trying as hard as we could to not let him think he's invincible.
Now we are home in Logan and Travis and I are back in the grind of school, just counting down the days until the semester ends. I will have two Summer classes and then I'm done, which I am so excited for. There are so many books other than Anatomy that I am really looking forward to reading. This semester has kicked my butt, I'm not used to studying, and there has been quite a bit this time around.
Our Easter was nice, we went to Weston and went to church there, then had a big Fonnesbeck family dinner. My mother-in-law is an amazing cook and always has a great spread. Since Brenner is the only grandchild, he had his own little Easter-egg hunt in the house (it was cold and windy outside) and we had a nice visit with family. So there you have it, I hope to be able to post some pictures soon!

little chair for a little man

This is my morning: Brenner wakes up at about 7:00 or 7:30 and I bring him into our bed to snuggle before breakfast. Immediately, he turns and gets about a half-inch away from my face and says "Pumba? Kingah?" Translation: "I want to watch The Lion King AGAIN"
Although having him watch movies once in a while is a life saver, he also sits about a foot away from the television, which I don't really like. I just hear my parent's voices in my head "Don't sit too close or you'll ruin your eyes!" Even though I don't really think it's true, it's got to be doing some kind of damage, right? So for the last month we have been on a quest for a little chair that we can put back away from the TV so he doesn't migrate to the 'one-foot-away' range. Today we were in Salt Lake and decided to go to IKEA to see if they had one, and I am happy to report that the trip was a huge success! We got him the cutest little chair and I think later we'll get a bigger version of it for us because we like it so much. Brenner was so excited when we got it put together, and plopped himself right down in it. Such a little cute-head.

We also got some fun utensils and plates for him and a pop up tent. Thanks Swedes, for hours of entertainment and sensible thinking. I really love that store and could spend a lot of money there quickly, it's a good thing Trav was there to hold me back.

purple shirts

I finally got the purple shirt pictures so here they are!

Me, Meg, Nicky (and Eva inside) and Eric. This was such a fun day, and we all got kick-A shirts.

Also congrats to Nicky and Eric! Tiny baby Eva was born today, weighing in at 4lbs 12 oz, happy birthday baby girl! She's doing great and we are so happy for them! On another note I am feeling victorious tonight because I just finished a test in Anatomical Kinesiology that I have been studying for every night. I don't know my score yet but I feel pretty good about my performance. Just two more tests this week and then spring break! Wahoo!
